How Do You Perform a Cleanboot on The CK71?
The cleanbooting of your Intermec or Honeywell CK71 doesn’t have to be as complicated or tricky a task as you might think.
It’s as straightforward a process as turning off the unit, before removing the battery, and then spending five seconds pressing and holding on the Reset button. Put in the battery pack, and then press and hold the Power button.
Release the Power button once you see the “Release IO Button” displayed, and within 20 seconds, press the ‘1’ key, and then the ‘2’ key. Follow this up by again pressing the ‘1’ key and then the ‘2’ key, still within the previous 20 seconds, and the CK71 should show “Cleanboot Confirmed”.
The device will then go ahead with the cleanboot sequence.
Has Support Ended for The Honeywell CK71?
According to an online support article published by Honeywell and last updated in January 2020, the launch of the next-generation CK75 mobile computer has led the company to discontinue the regular CK71 variant.
The same article gave an End of Life (EOL) date of 31st December 2015 for the CK71, and End of Service (EOS) on 31st December 2020. The company added at the time that there was not yet any plan for End of Support in relation to this device.
